| Product Description | |
AChRα1 also known as ACHRA, ACHR-1, CHRNA is a component of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. AChRα1 plays a vital role in synaptic transmission at the neuromuscular junction, where AChRα facilitates rapid communication between nerve and muscle cells. AChRα receptor is composed of five subunits that form a transmembrane channel, allowing selective passage of ions when activated by acetylcholine. Proper functioning of AChRα1 is essential for muscle contraction and overall neuromuscular function, and any dysfunction can lead to severe conditions such as myasthenia gravis. Additionally, AChRα1 undergoes post-translational modifications, including glycosylation, which are critical for stability, localization, and function. These modifications can influence receptor sensitivity and overall efficacy of synaptic transmission, highlighting AChRα1 importance in both normal physiology and disease states. |
