Product Description

Islet-1 also konwn as ISL1 is a member of the LIM/homeodomain family of transcription factors. Islet-1 plays a crucial role in pancreatic islets of Langerhans development and is essential for motor neuron differentiation in the neural tube. Islet-1 influences embryonic development and organogenesis, particularly in heart and pancreas, where Islet-1 helps define cardiac progenitor cell populations and is necessary for normal cardiac development and asymmetry. Islet-1 is involved in patterning developing mouse teeth by activating Bmp4 expression in specific areas, demonstrating importance in both developmental biology and potential implications in regenerative medicine.
