| Product Description | |
C/EBPα also known as C/EBP alpha, CEBPA is a member of the CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein family. C/EBPα plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression across various tissues, including liver, adipose tissue, lung, and intestine. C/EBPα is involved in the differentiation of several cell types, such as liver cells and adipocytes, and is essential for terminal differentiation of these cells. C/EBPα structure features a basic region/leucine zipper motif that facilitates specific binding to DNA, allowing C/EBPα to act as a transcription factor regulating genes associated with growth and metabolism. Growth hormone activates C/EBPα, increasing C/EBPα mRNA and protein levels while enhancing DNA-binding activity, thereby influencing expression of genes like prolactin. |
