| Product Description | |
IL-13Rα1 also known as CD213A1, IL13RA1 is a subunit of the interleukin 13 receptor. IL-13Rα1 plays a pivotal role in mediating the effects of the Th2 cytokine Interleukin-13 (IL-13), which is crucial for regulating immune responses, particularly in allergic reactions and asthma. IL-13R alpha 1 functions as part of a heterodimer with IL-4Rα, facilitating signaling pathways that lead to the activation of genes involved in inflammation and tissue remodeling. Expression of IL-13R alpha 1 is predominantly found in immune cells such as B cells, monocytes, and T cells, highlighting importance in immune regulation. The interaction between IL-13R alpha 1 and IL-4Rα is essential for IL-13′s biological activity, enhancing receptor affinity for the cytokine and amplifying the signaling cascade that contributes to allergic inflammation. |
