Product Description | |
Lamin B2 also known LMNB2 is a B type nuclear lamin. Lamin B2 plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of the nuclear envelope, which is essential for proper cellular function and organization. Located on the nucleoplasmic side of the inner nuclear membrane, Lamin B2 is a key component of the nuclear lamina, providing mechanical support and anchoring chromatin. This structural role is vital for regulating gene expression and ensuring the stability of the nucleus during cell division. Additionally, Lamin B2 is subject to post-translational modifications, such as farnesylation and phosphorylation, which are important for its function and interactions within the cell. Increased phosphorylation of lamins has been observed prior to nuclear envelope disintegration, suggesting a regulatory mechanism that influences lamin associations and cellular responses during apoptosis. |
