Product Description | |
Sortilin also known as sortilin-1, Gp95, NRT3 is a member of the VPS10-related sortilin family of proteins. Sortilin plays a crucial role in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues by mediating neurotensin signaling, which is essential for various physiological processes including pain modulation, thermoregulation, and metabolic control. Sortilin is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, where Sortilin undergoes post-translational modifications such as glycosylation, which are vital for proper folding, stability, and receptor activity. These modifications not only influence Sortilin ′s trafficking and localization but also Sortilin ′s interaction with neurotensin and other signaling molecules, thereby impacting downstream signaling pathways that regulate inflammatory responses and neuronal function. |
