Product Description | |
FGFR1OP(FGFR1 oncogene partner) also known as FOP, CEP43 is a 399 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular organization by localizing to the centrosome, where FGFR1OP is essential for anchoring microtubules. This localization is vital for maintaining proper cell division and ensuring mitotic spindle stability, which is critical for accurate chromosome segregation during cell division. FGFR1OP is expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels found in kidney, heart, muscle, colon, liver, testis, and pancreas, and functions as a homodimer that interacts with proteins such as EB1 and CEP350. Chromosomal aberrations involving FGFR1OP have been linked to stem cell myeloproliferative disorder development, a condition characterized by eosinophilia and myeloid hyperplasia that can progress to acute myeloid leukemia. FGFR1OP is expressed as multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in cellular processes. |
