Product Description

Nestin is a crucial intermediate filament protein predominantly found in embryonic central nervous system progenitor cells, where it plays a vital role in maintaining the structural integrity and function of these cells during development. Its dynamic presence is also significant in muscle development, as it polymerizes with other intermediate filament proteins like Desmin and Vimentin, forming a robust network essential for cellular architecture. Nestin′s ability to co-assemble with Vimentin or α-internexin into heterodimer coiled-coil structures further contributes to the formation of 10 nm intermediate filaments, which are critical for cellular resilience.
