BACH2 is a bZIP domain-containing transcriptional repressor that dimerizes with MafK and binds Maf recognition elements (MAREs) to regulate transcription. BACH2 is part of a network of transcription factors. Involved in primary adaptive immune response involving T cells and B cells. Located in cytosol and nucleoplasm. Part of RNA polymerase II transcription regulator complex. Implicated in immunodeficiency 60.
