| Product Description | |
RLIM also known as RNF12 is a RING-H2 zinc finger protein. RLIM plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, facilitating the ubiquitinylation and subsequent degradation of target proteins. This process is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various signaling pathways. RLIM is predominantly expressed in a variety of tissues and functions as a protein ligase that negatively regulates LIM homeodomain transcription factors by recruiting the Sin3A corepressor complex, which is essential for histone deacetylation. Additionally, RLIM interacts with CLIM proteins, which are positive co-regulators of LIM-HD transcription factors, leading to their ubiquitination and degradation. The structural integrity of RLIM, characterized by its RING-type zinc finger domain, is critical for its ligase activity and involvement in cellular processes, including implications in renal cell carcinoma. |
