Product Description

Ring1A also known as RNF1 is a member of the RING finger family. Ring1A plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression through involvement in chromatin remodeling and transcriptional repression, which is vital for maintaining cellular identity and preventing inappropriate gene activation. Specifically, Ring1A is part of the Polycomb group (PcG) proteins that form multimeric complexes essential for the repression of developmental genes, thereby influencing cell fate decisions during embryogenesis. A RING finger motif in Ring1A allows interaction with other regulatory proteins, facilitating function in chromatin modification. Ring1A′s ability to repress the expression of proto-oncogenes such as c-Jun and c-fos underscores importance in cellular growth regulation and oncogenesis.
