| Product Description | |
MCP-1 also known as CCL2 is a chemokine involved in the recruitment of monocytes to sites of inflammation, playing a vital role in the immune response. MCP-1 is primarily produced by activated T lymphocytes and other immune cells in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and interferon-gamma. MCP-1′s ability to attract monocytes is essential for mounting an effective immune response, particularly during infection and tissue injury, where MCP-1 facilitates leukocyte infiltration and promotes healing. Notably, MCP-1 interacts with two distinct receptors, CCR2 and CCR4, which are crucial for mediating MCP-1′s effects on target cells. |
