| Product Description | |
Erk1(Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1) also known as ERT2, p44, MAPK3 is a member of the MAP kinase family. ERK1 plays a pivotal role in the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway, which transmits extracellular signals into intracellular responses. The primary function of ERK1 is to regulate essential cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, survival, and development. Activation of ERK1 occurs through dual phosphorylation by upstream kinases MEK1 and MEK2 in response to stimuli like growth factors, cytokines, and mitogens. Once activated, ERK1 translocates to the nucleus where ERK1 phosphorylates a variety of substrates, including transcription factors such as ELK1, c-Fos, and c-Myc, leading to the regulation of genes involved in cell cycle progression and differentiation. |
