| Product Description | |
Annexin A5 also known as Annexin V, ANXA5 is a member of the annexin family of calcium-binding proteins, characterized by a conserved core domain that forms a propeller-like structure essential for binding phospholipids in a calcium-dependent manner, and a distinct N-terminal domain that provides binding specificity and facilitates interactions with other cellular proteins. The structural integrity of Annexin V is vital for regulating membrane dynamics, apoptotic cell recognition by binding to phosphatidylserine, and involvement in processes such as ion flux, endocytosis, exocytosis, and cellular adhesion. Annexin V′s ability to form ion channels and regulate protein kinase C (PKC) activity underscores its importance in cellular signaling pathways and membrane organization. |
