| Product Description | |
LDHC(Lactate dehydrogenase C) plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of L-lactate and NAD to pyruvate and NADH, marking the final step of anaerobic glycolysis. Notably, LDHC is uniquely expressed in testis and sperm, distinguishing LDHC from LDHA and LDHB, which are predominantly found in muscle and heart tissues, respectively. This specific localization underscores LDHC′s importance in male fertility and germ cell tumor diagnostics, making LDH-C a powerful biomarker in reproductive health studies. The genes encoding human LDHA and LDHC are located on chromosome 11, while human LDHB gene is situated on chromosome 12, with deficiencies in LDHA gene being associated with exertional myoglobinuria. |
