Product Description

Neurofibromin 1 also known as NF1 is a GTPase-activating protein that negatively regulates RAS/MAPK pathway activity by accelerating the hydrolysis of Ras-bound GTP.  Neurofibromin 1 plays a significant role in regulating cell growth and differentiation by acting as a GTPase-activating protein for Ras proteins. The interaction between Neurofibromin and Ras helps control cellular signaling pathways that, when dysregulated, can lead to tumorigenesis, making Neurofibromin 1 a key player in neurofibromatosis type 1 and other related disorders. Neurofibromin 1 is consistently expressed across various tissues, including brain, lung, liver, kidney, spleen, muscle, and colon, highlighting its fundamental role in maintaining normal cellular functions.
