| Product Description | |
Epsin 1 also known as EPN1 is a member of the epsin protein family. Epsin 1 plays a crucial role in the endocytic process, particularly in forming Clathrin-coated vesicles, which are essential for membrane proteins and lipids internalization. Epsin 1 is primarily located at the leading edge of vesicular coated pits, where Epsin 1 facilitates membrane bending, a critical step in endocytosis. This localization ensures efficient uptake of extracellular materials and signaling molecules, thereby influencing cellular communication and nutrient absorption. Epsin 1 also interacts with key proteins such as Eps15 and Clathrin, and Epsin 1 function is regulated by post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which can modulate activity during different cellular states, such as mitosis. |
