Product Description

PIAS4 also designated ZMIZ6, PIASy is a 510 amino acid transcriptional corepressor of the androgen receptor (AR). Enables SUMO ligase activity and ubiquitin protein ligase binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of transcription, DNA-templated; positive regulation of protein sumoylation; and protein sumoylation. Located in cytoplasm and nucleus. In addition, PIAS4 may regulate p53-mediated events and may direct p53 into a transactivation-independent mode of apoptosis.
