| Product Description | |
SPAK also known as DCHT, STK39 is a serine/threonine kinase that is thought to function in the cellular stress response pathway. SPAK catalyzes ATP-dependent phosphorylation of target proteins, mediating stress-activated signals essential for regulating various cellular functions, including cell division, homeostasis, and apoptosis. The phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of proteins on serine and threonine residues are crucial for maintaining cellular integrity and responding to environmental changes. The gene encoding SPAK is located on human chromosome 2, which contains over 1,400 genes and represents nearly 8% of the human genome, highlighting SPAK′s significance in human health and disease. |
