| Product Description | |
IFITM2(Interferon induced transmembrane protein 2) is an interferon-stimulated gene encoding a small membrane-associated protein that contributes to intrinsic innate immunity. IFITM2 localizes primarily to endosomal and lysosomal membranes, where it can alter membrane properties to restrict entry and trafficking of enveloped viruses, integrating with type I/II interferon signaling and broader antiviral restriction factor networks. Its activity is linked to regulation of endocytic pathways, vesicular acidification, and membrane fusion events, processes that also intersect with inflammatory signaling and cellular stress responses. Dysregulated IFITM2 expression has been associated with altered susceptibility to viral infection and immune-related phenotypes, making it relevant for studies of host–pathogen interactions and interferon-driven cellular programs. |
