| Product Description | |
EEA1(Early endosome antigen 1) is a marker of early endosomes that plays a crucial role in the early endosomal pathway, which is essential for sorting and transport of endocytosed proteins. EEA1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where EEA1 associates with early endosomes, and proper localization is vital for regulation of membrane trafficking processes. EEA1 contains a calmodulin-binding IQ motif and a cysteine-rich finger motif, both necessary for specific localization to early endosomes. EEA1 interacts with transferrin receptor and Rab5, highlighting EEA1′s importance in the endocytic pathway. EEA1′s structure and interactions with other proteins are critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis and facilitating recycling of membrane proteins, making EEA1 a significant target for studies related to membrane dynamics and trafficking disorders. |
