| Product Description | |
RUNX3 aslo known as AML2 is a member of the runt domain-containing family of transcription factors. RUNX3 plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression related to cellular differentiation and cell cycle progression. RUNX3 is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic cells, including myeloid and B-cell lines, as well as in the spleen. RUNX3 is involved in the growth and differentiation of gastric epithelial cells, positioning RUNX3 as a significant candidate for gastric cancer tumor suppression. RUNX3 function is particularly important because hypermethylation of the RUNX3 gene can lead to inactivation, which has been implicated in the development of gastric cancer. Detection of hypermethylation within the RUNX3 CpG island can serve as a valuable biomarker for diagnosing and assessing the risk of gastric cancer, highlighting RUNX3′s importance in both cancer biology and potential therapeutic strategies. |
