| Product Description | |
GATA-3 is a protein which belongs to the GATA family of transcription factors. GATA-3 plays a crucial role in the development and function of T lymphocytes, acting as a transcription factor that regulates the expression of genes essential for T cell differentiation and function. GATA-3 expression is particularly important in the immune response, as GATA-3 is involved in the development of Th2 cells, which are critical for orchestrating responses to extracellular pathogens and in allergic reactions. GATA-3 is predominantly located in the nucleus of T cells, where GATA-3 binds to specific DNA sequences to modulate gene expression. Nuclear localization is vital for function, as direct influence on the transcription of target genes drives T cell development and function. GATA-3 regulation of these processes underscores significance in both normal immune function and in the pathogenesis of various diseases, including allergies and autoimmune disorders. |
