Product Description

GAP43(growth associated protein 43) also known as B-50, PP46 is a crucial component for regenerative response in the nervous system. GAP43 plays a vital role in neuronal development and regeneration, being predominantly expressed in growth cones during these processes. GAP43 presence is crucial for axonal outgrowth and synapse formation, which are essential for proper neuronal communication and repair following injury. GAP43 localization in the axonal membrane underscores GAP43′s importance in facilitating dynamic changes required for neuronal plasticity and regeneration. Additionally, GAP43 interacts with specific proteins, such as the neuron-specific Elav/Hu family member HuD, which stabilizes GAP43 mRNA, thereby enhancing protein levels during neuronal development.
