| Product Description | |
KAP1 also known as TF1β, TRIM28 is a member of the tripartif motif family characterized by three zinc-binding domains, a RING finger, B-boxes and a coiled-coil domain. KAP1 plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation by interacting with the Kruppel-associated box (KRAB) repression domain found in various transcription factors. This interaction is vital for mediating transcriptional repression, which is essential for processes such as cellular differentiation and response to stress. The human KAP1 gene is located on chromosome 19q13.4 and encodes an 835 amino acid nuclear protein, underscoring its importance in gene expression regulation and cellular homeostasis. |
