N-cadherin plays a crucial role in cell adhesion, facilitating binding between cells that is essential for maintaining tissue integrity and promoting morphogenetic processes. N-cadherin is primarily located at the cell membrane, where adherens junctions form, which are vital for structural organization of tissues.
