Product Description

Filamin A also known as Filamin 1, FLNA is an actin-binding protein that crosslinks actin filaments and links actin filaments to membrane glycoproteins. Filamin A plays a crucial role in organizing the cytoskeleton by crosslinking actin filaments into a three-dimensional network, which maintains cell shape, enables cellular movement, and facilitates intracellular transport. Filamin A functions extend to mechanotransduction and signal transduction pathways, which are vital for cellular responses to mechanical stimuli and external signals. Filamin A interacts with numerous proteins, including integrins and growth factor receptors, influencing cell adhesion and migration. Filamin A′s ability to form homodimers enhances structural integrity and functional versatility, making Filamin A a key player in both muscle and non-muscle tissues.
