Product Description

NKX2-5 also known as Csx, NKX-2.5 is a homeobox-containing transcription factor. NKX2-5 plays a crucial role in cardiac development as a transcription factor that regulates the expression of genes essential for heart formation and function. NKX2-5 is primarily located in the nucleus, where DNA binding influences the transcription of target genes involved in cardiomyocyte differentiation and cardiac morphogenesis. Proper localization of NKX2-5 ensures appropriate gene activation during embryonic development, particularly during critical stages of heart formation. Disruptions in NKX2-5 expression or function can lead to severe developmental issues, including congenital heart defects and cardiovascular anomalies.
