| Product Description | |
N-Myc also known as MYCN is a member of the Myc family of oncogenes. N-Myc plays a crucial role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, making N-Myc a significant factor in cancer biology. N-Myc amplification is particularly relevant in neuroblastomas, where N-Myc has been shown to correlate with disease progression, highlighting N-Myc′s potential as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis. Structurally, N-Myc is a nuclear phosphoprotein that undergoes rapid degradation, with a half-life of approximately 30 minutes in vivo, which is essential for regulating N-Myc activity and preventing uncontrolled cell growth. N-Myc′s ability to bind DNA in a sequence-specific manner, following dimerization with the Max protein, underscores N-Myc′s importance in transcriptional regulation and oncogenic processes. |
