| Product Description | |
Leptin Receptor also known Ob-R, LEPR is a member of the class I cytokine receptor family and structurally resembles the gp130 signal-transducing component of the IL-6 receptor complex. Leptin Receptor plays a critical role in regulating body weight, energy balance, and neuroendocrine functions by mediating the effects of leptin, a hormone produced by adipose tissue that suppresses appetite and promotes energy expenditure. Predominantly expressed in the hypothalamus and choroid plexus, Leptin Receptor is pivotal in signaling pathways that control food intake and body weight homeostasis. Dysregulation or mutations in the leptin receptor can lead to obesity and metabolic disorders, including type II diabetes, making Leptin Receptor a significant target for research in metabolic regulation and energy homeostasis. |
