| Product Description | |
IRF-8 also known as ICSBP is a transcription factor of the interferon (IFN) regulatory factor (IRF) family. IRF-8 plays a crucial role as a transcription factor in the regulation of immune responses, particularly in the signaling pathways mediated by interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) during the differentiation of dendritic cells and macrophages. IRF-8 physically interacts with TRAF6, a key adaptor protein that modulates Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling, facilitating the cross-talk between IFN-γ and TLR pathways, which is essential for effective immune responses. IRF-8 has been shown to antagonize the oncogenic Bcr/Abl fusion protein by downregulating Bcl-2, highlighting a potential role in cancer biology. |
