Product Description

IL-6R also known as IL-6Rα, CD126 a subunit of the interleukin 6 (IL6) receptor complex. IL-6R plays a crucial role in the immune response by mediating the effects of interleukin-6 (IL-6), a cytokine involved in inflammation and immune response. Upon binding of IL-6 to IL-6R, a signaling complex forms with gp130, which is essential for IL-6 signal transduction. This interaction activates intracellular signaling pathways that influence cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation, highlighting IL-6R alpha′s importance in various pathological conditions, including autoimmune diseases and cancers. Additionally, soluble IL-6R, generated through proteolytic cleavage, can enhance IL-6 signaling in a paracrine manner, further emphasizing IL-6R′s significance in modulating immune responses.
