| Product Description | |
IGFBP1 is a member of the insulin-like growth factor binding protein (IGFBP) family. IGFBP1 plays a significant role in modulating IGF bioavailability by binding and influencing distribution in the extracellular environment. IGFBP1 regulation is particularly important as insulin production negatively regulates IGFBP1, making IGFBP1 a key player in metabolic processes and fetal development. IGFBP1 gene expression is notably high during fetal liver development and responds to nutritional changes and diabetic conditions, highlighting IGFBP1′s importance in growth regulation and metabolic health. IGFBP1 interacts with other IGFBPs, such as IGFBP2, which may function as a chaperone for IGFs, and IGFBP3, the most abundant IGFBP that complexes with a significant portion of serum IGFs. |
