| Product Description | |
GNA11 also known as G alpha 11, Gα11 belongs to the family of guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins). GNA11 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling as a member of the heterotrimeric G protein family, which transmits signals from activated cell surface receptors to intracellular effectors. Specifically, GNA11 is involved in the activation of phospholipase C, leading to the production of inositol trisphosphate and diacylglycerol, which are vital for calcium signaling and various cellular responses. This signaling pathway is essential for numerous physiological processes, including smooth muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and cell proliferation. GNA11 protein is predominantly expressed in the brain and lung, where GNA11 contributes to the regulation of diverse functions such as cardiovascular responses and sensory perception. |
