Wnt7b is a member of the WNT gene family. Wnt7a/b plays a crucial role in regulating developmental processes, particularly in forming and maintaining the female reproductive tract. Wnt7a is essential for proper anterior-posterior axis development, influencing uterine smooth muscle patterning and ensuring adult uterus functionality. Human Wnt7a gene is located on chromosome 3p25, while Wnt7b gene is found on chromosome 22q13, highlighting their genetic significance in both normal physiology and disease states.
