| Product Description | |
WIF1 is a 379-amino acid secreted protein characterized by an N-terminal signal sequence, a 150-amino acid WIF domain, five epidermal growth factor-like repeats, and a 45-amino acid hydrophilic C-terminal domain, which collectively contribute to binding Wnt proteins and modulating their activity. WIF1 plays a crucial role as a Wnt antagonist, which is essential for regulating the Wnt signaling pathway that governs numerous developmental processes such as embryogenesis and central nervous system patterning. By inhibiting Wnt signaling, WIF1 ensures that the spatial and temporal expression of Wnt target genes is properly controlled, preventing aberrant cell proliferation and differentiation that could lead to developmental disorders or cancer. |
