| Product Description | |
TTK is a dual specificity protein kinase with the ability to phosphorylate tyrosine, serine and threonine. TTK plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation, particularly during the transition from G1 to S phase and peaking in G2 to M phase, where TTK is essential for proper cell division and proliferation. As a member of the serine-threonine/tyrosine family of protein kinases, TTK is expressed in a wide range of proliferating human cells and tissues, with TTK expression significantly reduced or absent in resting cells or those with a low proliferative index. Cloning of the full-length TTK sequence from a human T cell expression library using anti-phosphotyrosine antibodies, along with isolation of TTK mouse homolog from an embryonal carcinoma cell line, underscores TTK importance in cellular processes. |
