| Product Description | |
TREM2(Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2) is a membrane protein that forms a receptor signaling complex with the TYRO protein tyrosine kinase binding protein. TREM2 plays a crucial role in the immune response, particularly in myeloid cells, where TREM2 acts as a receptor that, upon binding to its ligand, initiates signaling pathways promoting macrophage activation and survival. This function is vital for maintaining immune homeostasis and responding to inflammation, as dysregulation of TREM2 signaling has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer′s disease. TREM2 is located on chromosome 6p21.1 and encodes a 230 amino acid protein that forms a signaling complex with DAP12, enhancing immune response through upregulation of chemokine receptors and promoting dendritic cell maturation. |
