TGF-β3 also known as TGF beta3, TGFB3 is essential for proper embryonic development and tissue homeostasis, mediating intercellular signaling that influences cell fate decisions during development. TGFβ3 is synthesized as a precursor protein, cleaved to produce a 112 amino acid polypeptide, which remains associated with a latent portion of the molecule, highlighting complex regulation and function. TGFβ3 expression levels are significant in various pathological conditions, showing overexpression in extramammary Paget′s disease and downregulation in Bowen′s disease, making TGFβ3 a valuable biomarker for tumor activity.
