| Product Description | |
Rad50 is highly similar to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Rad50, a protein involved in DNA double-strand break repair. Rad50 plays a crucial role in DNA double-strand break repair (DSBR) pathway, which is essential for maintaining genomic stability and preventing cell death, mutations, or neoplastic transformation. Rad50 functions as part of a protein complex that recognizes and binds to DNA breaks, facilitating recruitment of other repair proteins such as Rad51 and MRE11. This interaction is vital for homologous recombination repair process, which ensures accurate repair of DNA damage. Rad50′s ability to form a stable complex with Rad51 and BRCA1/BRCA2 highlights its importance in cellular response to DNA damage, as mutations in these pathways can lead to genomic instability and cancer. |
