| Product Description | |
FABP5 also known as E-FABP is a member of the fatty acid-binding protein family, which is known for its role in lipid metabolism and cellular signaling. FABP5 is primarily located in the cytoplasm of keratinocytes and plays a significant role in keratinocyte differentiation, making FABP5 essential for maintaining skin integrity and function. FABP5 binds to fatty acids, particularly stearic acid, facilitating their transport and utilization within the cell. FABP5′s function is highlighted by FABP5 upregulation in response to nerve injury, as observed in rat dorsal root ganglia after sciatic nerve crush, indicating FABP5′s potential involvement in neuronal development and repair processes. |
