Product Description

Dyrk1A also known as MRD7 is a member of the Dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase (DYRK) family. Dyrk1A plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, particularly in regulating cell proliferation and differentiation. Dyrk1A targets a dual-specificity kinase that phosphorylates both serine/threonine and tyrosine residues, essential for modulating signaling pathways that influence cell growth and development. Dyrk1A is predominantly localized in the nucleus and highly expressed in tissues such as testis, muscle, and developing nervous system, highlighting importance in neurogenesis and other developmental processes. Dyrk1A recognizes a protein implicated in learning and memory functions, with research suggesting that alterations in activity may contribute to cognitive deficits associated with Down syndrome. Four isoforms of Dyrk1A, resulting from alternative splicing, further underscore complexity of regulatory mechanisms and functional diversity within cellular contexts.
