Clusterin also known as CLI, ApoJ, SGP2, SP-40, TRPM2 is a multifunctional secretory heterodimeric glycoprotein involved in immune regulation, cell adhesion, lipid transportation, tissue remodeling, membrane recycling, and cell-cell interactions. Within cells, Clusterin is predominantly localized in the extracellular matrix, where Clusterin plays a critical role in maintaining cellular homeostasis by inhibiting the complement system and preventing unwanted immune responses. Additionally, Clusterin is found in the cytoplasm and nucleus, where Clusterin is involved in regulating apoptosis, protecting cells from stress-induced damage, and facilitating intracellular signaling pathways.
