Product Description

p15 INK4B also known as P15, CDKN2B is primarily localized in the nucleus of the cell, where p15 INK4B plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle by inhibiting cyclin-dependent kinases Cdk4 and Cdk6. This inhibition is vital for controlling the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase, thereby maintaining proper cell cycle checkpoints and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation, which is a key factor in tumor development. p15 INK4B functions as a tumor suppressor and acts as an effector in TGFβ-mediated cell cycle arrest, with p15 INK4B expression being significantly upregulated in response to TGFβ treatment in human keratinocytes.
