| Product Description | |
SERPING1 also known as Serpin family G member 1, C1INH is a highly glycosylated plasma protein involved in the regulation of the complement cascade. SERPING1 plays a critical role in regulating the complement and contact activation pathways, which are essential for maintaining homeostasis in the immune response. By inhibiting serine proteases such as C1r and C1s, SERPING1 prevents excessive inflammation and tissue damage, making SERPING1 vital for controlling the body′s response to injury and infection. Dysregulation of SERPING1 can lead to conditions such as hereditary angioedema, characterized by recurrent episodes of severe swelling, highlighting the importance of SERPING1 in both health and disease. |
