| Product Description | |
BMPR2 also known as BMPR-II is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) receptor family of transmembrane serine/threonine kinases. BMPR2 plays a crucial role in the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling pathway, which regulates various biological processes such as cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. BMPR2 functions as a type II receptor that interacts with type I receptors, BMPR-IA and BMPR-IB, forming a signaling complex that mediates BMP effects on gene expression and morphogenesis. BMPR2 expression occurs in various tissues, including the brain, where proper functioning maintains normal physiological processes. Dysregulation of BMPR2 signaling has been linked to several diseases, including pulmonary arterial hypertension and certain types of cancer, making BMPR2 an important target for therapeutic intervention. |
