| Product Description | |
NFAT1also known as NFATc2 is a member of the nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT) family. NFAT1 plays a crucial role in the immune response by regulating the expression of cytokine genes in T cells. Upon activation of the T cell receptor, the calcium-dependent protein phosphatase calcineurin is stimulated, leading to the translocation of NFAT1 from the cytoplasm to the nucleus. In the nucleus, NFAT1 collaborates with AP-1 transcription factors to initiate the transcription of genes essential for T cell activation and function. This process is vital for the proper immune response, as NFAT1 influences the production of cytokines that mediate inflammation and immune regulation. |
