Product Description

Dnmt1 is an enzyme that transfers methyl groups to cytosine nucleotides of genomic DNA. Dnmt1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where Dnmt1 interacts with hemimethylated DNA to ensure faithful transmission of epigenetic information during DNA replication. The ability of Dnmt1 to recognize and bind to hemimethylated sites is vital for preserving methylation status of genes, thereby influencing developmental processes and cellular identity. Dysregulation of Dnmt1 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, making Dnmt1 a significant target for research into epigenetic therapies.
