Product Description

Caspase-6 also known as MCH2, CASP6 is a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family of enzymes. which are crucial for the execution of apoptosis, a programmed cell death process essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and development. Caspase-6 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is activated in response to apoptotic signals, where caspase-6 plays a pivotal role in cleaving specific substrates that are vital for cellular integrity. Notably, caspase-6 has been shown to cleave nuclear lamins, which are integral to maintaining the structural integrity of the nuclear envelope and ensuring proper cellular morphology. The precise regulation of caspase-6 activity is critical, as dysregulation can lead to various pathological conditions, including neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.
