Product Description

MFF(Mitochondrial fission factor) is a nuclear gene encoding a protein that functions in mitochondrial and peroxisomal fission. MFF plays a vital role in mitochondrial and peroxisomal fission, which is essential for maintaining cellular energy homeostasis and regulating apoptosis. The proper functioning of MFF facilitates the dynamic remodeling of mitochondria, allowing cells to adapt to metabolic demands and stress conditions. MFF is expressed abundantly in various tissues, including the stomach, heart, muscle, liver, brain, and kidney, and exists as five alternatively spliced isoforms encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 2q36.3. This chromosome is significant as it is the second largest in the human genome, containing over 1,400 genes and being associated with several genetic diseases.
